Clothing the Homeless in Prague

With cold weather coming on, we have another opportunity to help the homeless who are served by the Nadeje shelter. In addition to our Friday Sandwiches, we can now bring donations of clothing.

Used men’s clothing, clean and in good condition, particularly warm coats, sweaters, sweat shirts, vests, and hats are needed. Also appreciated are new socks, underwear, and gloves. Of course, it’s OK to buy any of these items new.

Please bring your donations to the IWAP office. We will take care of distribution from there. Thanks very much for your generosity and participation in this program. You will make lives better for many people who would go hungry and cold if not for your good will.

Just a reminder, we prepare sandwiches for the Nadeje shelter in Prague 1. The shelter is open on weekends, but the kitchen is not. So our sandwiches arrive on Friday and are distributed on Saturday and Sunday. We are currently on an every-other-Friday schedule, gathering at the K Café at Senovážné náměstí 23, 11282, Praha 1, between 10 – 11 AM. If you can, stay for a coffee and conversation, and then walk along to the shelter. If you are short on time, just drop the sandwiches off, and I will take them for you.

The Charity Group monthly meeting

We meet every third Tuesday of the month in the IWAP office, from 10 a.m. to noon. Our next meeting is on 17 January 2012 and it will be very exciting because we will be looking at the results of the Charity Christmas Market and then we will start on a new year with identifying new charities to support, going to visit and assess charities, continue hands-on projects we have and commence new ones. Everyone is welcome.
