WHO WE ARE
The
International Women's Association of Prague (IWAP) is an independent, non-political, non-profit organization run voluntarily
by its members. We welcome and promote friendship among women living in the Czech Republic, acquaint members with the
local culture by organizing cultural and social activities and raise funds for the benefit of selected charities within the
Czech Republic.
We have nearly 340 diverse and international members who come from approximately 35 different
countries and range in age from 20 to 93. IWAP offers its members interest groups, social & cultural events, monthly general
meetings, and The Bridge magazine. Our activities take place during the day, evenings and on some weekends. Spouses and partners
are welcome to join our social and cultural events.
Since it was founded in 1991, IWAP has provided significant
financial and volunteer support to over 100 charitable organizations in the Czech Republic. The charities supported include
orphanages and foster homes, handicapped children’s homes, a hospice for terminally ill children, breast cancer awareness
and the support of disadvantaged and abused women. Our Charity Christmas Market is one of our biggest charity fundraisers.
